So i logged out of the KDE session. Once unplugged, I expected the login SDDM to appear again, but the screen remained black . The cursor was there and in terms of "space" it seemed that the 2nd monitor was still considered active. Once I plugged the monitor in again, I could see the cursor on my 2nd screen.
