My issue seems to be related to any app that places an icon in the system tray.
As I remove/close apps, plasmashell usage drops a little for each additional
closed app. Hogs include Chrome, Skype and others. Right now, my process % is
around 25% ( ~80% of 1 core on 6-core machine ) but has gone as high as 70%. My
issue does not just happen with animated icons ...
This issue started with Plasma 5.6 and continues to 5.7.2 as of now.
