Cannot reproduce. Make sure that in "Configure Kdenlive", section "Environment"
the image editing application is correctly set, and that your distribution has
provided a correctly working wrapping script, if it does so. With recent
Kdenlive beta 16.09.30 Gimp opens correctly the image clip from the project
bin.
