            Bug ID: 443592
Summary: Audio lags when volume menu (plasma-pa) is launched.
           Product: plasma-pa
           Version: 5.22.90
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: applet
          Assignee: now...@gmail.com
          Reporter: lefteris...@gmail.com
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In certain cases, when the volume menu is launched while an application is
playing audio, the audio cracks for a short time period (around 1s on most
cases).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open up something that plays audio (e.g. a YouTube video on Google Chrome).
2. Wait around 5-10s.
3. Open volume menu.
4. Close volume menu.
5. Reopen it immediately without waiting.
6. Close it.
7. Reopen it after waiting 5-10s.

OBSERVED RESULT
When you open volume menu for the first time you experience the sound lag/skip.
If you close it and reopen immediately everything is fine.
If you close it, wait 5-10s (or more, I don't know) and then open it the issue
reappears.

EXPECTED RESULT
You should not experience a sound skip when you open the volume menu regardless
of how much time has passed since you opened it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kubuntu 21.10 (bug also exists in 21.04 which I tested)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.90 (bug exists in stable version as well)
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

PC specs:
Motherboard: ASUS B150M-K
CPU: Intel I3-6098P
GPU: NVIDIA GTX750 (proprietary driver in use)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bug also exists in Ubuntu/Gnome but not when you open the volume menu.
When you go to the settings app and select "Sound" in the left menu you also
experience the same kind of audio skip.
