Please go to System Settings > DIsplay & Monitor > Compositor; is the checkbox
for "Enable compositor on startup" checked?
Do any apps auto-start? Does it happen if you go to System Settings > Startup
and Shutdown > Desktop Session and choose "Start with an empty session"?
