Thanks for the screen recording, that's very helpful. Looks like the applet is
confused and changes the default output without moving over streams. Question:
in System Settings > Audio > Configure, have you checked the checkbox for
"Automatically switch all running streams when a new output becomes available?"
And if not, if you do check it, does that fix the problem and cause the stream
to move over to the new device to match which one becomes checked?
If so, then the bug is that we need to make the applet automatically switch the
default device only when that setting is in use.
