Bug ID: 430233 Summary: Please consider ReplayGain tags Product: elisa Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr Reporter: tobias.leup...@gmx.de Target Milestone: --- Dear Elisa devs, it would be really cool if you added support for automatic volume adjustment via ReplayGain tags. My music collection contains a vast set of music, from 60s Jazz to recent Death Metal. The old ones are mostly quite dynamic and silent, whereas the newer stuff is often compressed beyond unrecognizability – you all know the loudness war problem. ReplayGain tags (set e. g. via the loudness-scanner tool or similar) allowed to get a quite nice volume for all back in ole Amarok days. It would be really cool if Elisa considered ReplayGain tags (maybe via a second volume slider, checkable to be able turn if off? Hidable via settings? Or whatever ... ideally with a setting if one should use the album or track gain) that adjusts the volume for the currently playing song according to it's actual loudness if a ReplayGain tag is found. Would be just another tag to read (supposedly, without having looked at the code yet ;-) Thanks for your great work :-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
