Closing this since I can't reproduce it on a clean machine.
To anyone getting the same error, for me it worked to follow the steps in the
ArchWiki on resolving errors with Plasma.
$ rm ~/.config/Trolltech.conf
$ kbuildsycoca5 --noincremental
$ rm -rf ~/.cache/*
--
