--- Comment #136 from xar...@gmail.com --- Nate, Hello, I only intervene very little. I would just like to say that here it is a usability bug. When you tidy up your desk and find it a mess, it quickly becomes frustrating. >From the years that this bug has existed, we really have to ask ourselves: do we really want users to be able to put things on the desktop. I'm also a developer, and it's no excuse to say you need to fix something else. This form of excuse would be valid if the bug had not existed for so long. Likewise, number 5 on your list makes no sense. You don't know if the person is donating to KDE. People often donate in the hope that the bugs they encounter will be fixed as soon as possible. I myself have a new very annoying bug, I can no longer open items on the desktop by double clicks. But that doesn't bother me because Linux is only a secondary OS for me to do my validations. If I had to use it every day, this bug would be of great importance for me to correct because my desktop is a transition space for my documents. Unfortunately, my experience with bugs reported to developers has always gone badly. Bugs are not crawled for months or even years after they are opened. I report very few bugs in free software because I am discouraged by the time it takes to process tickets. (I'm talking about the time it takes for someone on the team to read it) When I read developer comments like the one you made, I am saddened by how little empathy you have for users who experience usage bugs. Also think about the reaction of people who find out the age of this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
