--- Comment #3 from MarcP <iwannaber...@gmail.com> --- Hi, Maik, > Why don't we want to let users choose where to create their tags? Well, yes, but let's remember that digikam automatically places face tags within "People" when it finds them, without any user intervention. Since we are forcing that, therefore, I think it makes sense to confine face tags within the "People" pseudotag. Moreover, face tags cannot really be hierarchical, since the XMP field for the face does not support subtags. (although the whole "People" pseudotag is problematic. See bug 392008 or bug 416213 for instance. Ideally, it shouldn't really be a tag, but a category in digikam's interface.) > And as a reminder, not all users only mark people. I believe using face rectangles for anything else (e.g. birds) should be discouraged, since it interferes with the face recognition engine. In any case, if bug 420658 is fixed, this wouldn't be a big deal and can be ignored. The thing is that, currently, if you type a first and last name, there are two suggestions underneath and the user can't tell them apart. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
