SUMMARY
I was just poking around with the active window control in the application menu
bar and trying some stuff the bar and the desktop vanished.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open 'configure Active window control'
2. In section 'Appearence'
3. In 'Fit text:' set 'fit on hover'
4. And in 'Tooltip text:' 'Application name'
5. Apply
OBSERVED RESULT
The desktop wallpaper went black, right click on the desktop wont work, the
latte bar went invisible.
