Bug ID: 403640 Summary: Wrong positioning of launchers and windows during startup for icon-only taskmanager Product: plasmashell Version: 5.14.4 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: mvourla...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY During startup there are cases that the icon-only taskmanager fails to restore the proper positions for launchers and at the same time it places windows in the launchers area even though is should not. Workaround: after first activation of faulty positioned windows or launchers they are placed automatically at their correct positions afterwards STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add an empty plasma panel that contains only the plasma icon-only taskmanager 2. Important: add the following launchers with that specific order: firefox, dolphin, kwrite, telegram, konversation, kfind, kcalc 3. Important: open the following windows only: firefox, kwrite, blender(which does not have any launcher), konsole(which does not have any launcher) 4. restart plasma e.g. with: kquitapp5 plasmashell | kstart5 plasmashell OBSERVED RESULT In my system blender window is placed inside the launchers area (position:3) even though it is not a launcher and firefox is not positioned in position:0 but at position:4, so it is positioned wrongly EXPECTED RESULT launchers should be placed at their correct order independent if there are windows for them and at the same time windows that do not have launchers for them should been always placed in the end ADDITIONAL INFORMATION the faulty behavior appears only if there are two or more windows that belong to launchers. If the launchers do not have windows open then the launchers are always placed correctly, I couldnt reproduce the faulty behavior in that case. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
