If you're using Ubuntu's provided package, you're likely running Kaffeine
version 2.0.14, as it seems it doesn't have Kaffeine 2.0.15 packaged:
    https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+package/kaffeine

There was a bug on 2.0.14 affecting subtitles selection that was fixed on
2.0.15. You should likely ask a BZ for Ubuntu asking them to upgrade Kaffeine.

I'm closing it, because it is duplicated. Please re-open the BZ if it still
occurs after upgrading to 2.0.15. On such case, I'll require more data in order
to be able to reproduce it here with my RF generator.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 365067 ***
