We can agree that it is an inconvenience that changed persisted settings are not applied in this particular case. We have a bunch of other configurations that use the same mechanism of letting temporary changes in individual views override the persisted ones (in settings). Ans as you noticed, the "zoom level" in this case is just the font size and changing the font size modifies the font. If you want to reopen this as a "wish-list" you are free to do so!
