With both, brightness changed with the monitor's buttons shows up in the brightness slider within a few seconds, including changes made on another input. Tested with a Huawei ZQE-CAA (HDMI) and a Xiaomi Mi Monitor (DP). Feedback on whether periodic polling is acceptable would be welcome in the PowerDevil MR.
