I use it on so many apps that I thought Dolphin supported it. Re-testing now I see that horizontal scroll only really works if there's no vertical scrollbar. And in such cases, holding shift is not really necessary. I'll submit the patch I attached. It basically adds support for horizontal scrolling by holding shift while a vertical scrollbar is visible.
