Since upgrading from Plasma 6.6.4 to 6.8.0, desktop icons in Folder View
frequently disappear after docking or undocking my laptop.
Switching the desktop layout from Folder View to Desktop and back restores the
icons, but their original positions are lost.
The issue persists with Plasma 6.8.1.
Previously, Plasma 6.6.4 worked reliably for over 150 days of continuous system
uptime, including daily docking/undocking between different monitors at
different places.

Steps to reproduce:
Configure desktop layout as Folder View.
Arrange desktop icons manually.
Dock or undock the laptop.
Desktop icons disappear.
Expected result:
Desktop icons remain visible and retain their positions across monitor
configuration changes.
Actual result:
Icons disappear and can only be restored by toggling the desktop layout, which
also changes their arranged positions.
Dockingstation is WD22TB4 with 43" monitor (4K @ 100%scale )
