In that case, what does the .desktop file built-in to the AppImage do? > If this worked for you, it's likely that you installed such a .desktop file > at some point in the past, but it may no longer compatible with the current > AppImage version of that application. Well, I used to use the AUR package, and for a bit the flatpak, for ungoogled-chromium. But I uninstalled them when I switched to the AppImage instead, around december 2025. So if I at some point installed a .desktop file, I would assume it would be either of them. I haven't manually installed one atleast. And then assumably the file has persisted until now recently when either an archlinux change or KDE change removed it? I can't find any .desktop file (outside of the built-in one) for it now atleast. If this is the case, I'm both sorry for wasting your time, and grateful that you helped me understand this. And I now realise that I haven't told you that I only just recently downloaded the AppImage for librewolf, in order to make sure that this wasn't just a problem with the ungoogled-chromium AppImages. So I'm not sure if there was a point where librewolf would've worked. I'm so sorry for that. I thought I wrote it in the description, but I saw now that I didn't. > Does it show up in your launcher (Application Launcher/Menu/Dashbaord)? Can > you post the output of running (in a terminal) kwindowprop and clicking the > window of the appimage app? Can you post the .desktop file for it? No, does not show up in launcher. And I can't remember if it used to do that or not, though I am slightly leaning towards it not showing up. kwindowprop for ungoogled-chromium: activities: ad5a23a3-63e8-4853-8acf-d1bdfbd211d7 caption: New Tab - Chromium clientMachine: desktopFile: chromium-browser desktops: 3b23c370-ce5e-4ba8-a4ce-2e52e5e773fd excludeFromCapture: false fullscreen: false hasTransientParent: false height: 1192 keepAbove: false keepBelow: false layer: 2 localhost: true maximizeHorizontal: 0 maximizeVertical: 0 minimized: false noBorder: false pid: 9494 resourceClass: chromium-browser resourceName: chrome role: skipPager: false skipSwitcher: false skipTaskbar: false type: 0 uuid: {d6d1b99d-3a8c-4006-b716-363e612fe3df} width: 1085.142857142857 x: 554 y: 21 kwindowprop for librewolf: activities: ad5a23a3-63e8-4853-8acf-d1bdfbd211d7 caption: LibreWolf clientMachine: desktopFile: librewolf desktops: 3b23c370-ce5e-4ba8-a4ce-2e52e5e773fd excludeFromCapture: false fullscreen: false hasTransientParent: false height: 1022.8571428571429 keepAbove: false keepBelow: false layer: 2 localhost: true maximizeHorizontal: 0 maximizeVertical: 0 minimized: false noBorder: false pid: 8519 resourceClass: librewolf resourceName: librewolf role: skipPager: false skipSwitcher: false skipTaskbar: false type: 0 uuid: {effac125-0a16-4eeb-a908-a280e79f9817} width: 1613.7142857142858 x: 290 y: 105 Built-in .desktop file for ungoogled-chromium: [Desktop Entry] Actions=new-window;new-private-window; Categories=Network;WebBrowser; Comment[en_US]=Access the Internet Comment=Access the Internet Exec=AppRun %U GenericName[en_US]=Web Browser GenericName=Web Browser Icon=chromium MimeType=text/html;image/webp;image/png;image/jpeg;image/gif;application/xml;application/xml;application/xhtml+xml;application/rss+xml;application/rdf+xml;application/pdf; Name[en_US]=ungoogled-chromium Name=ungoogled-chromium Path= StartupNotify=true Terminal=false TerminalOptions= Type=Application Version=1.0 X-AppImage-Version=155.0.8059.39-1 X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false X-KDE-Username= [Desktop Action new-private-window] Exec=AppRun --incognito Name=New Incognito Window [Desktop Action new-window] Exec=AppRun Name=New Window Built-in .desktop file for librewolf: [Desktop Entry] Name=LibreWolf Exec=librewolf %u Icon=librewolf Type=Application MimeType=text/html;text/xml;application/xhtml+xml;x-scheme-handler/http;x-scheme-handler/https;application/x-xpinstall;application/pdf;application/json; StartupWMClass=librewolf Categories=Network;WebBrowser; StartupNotify=true Terminal=false X-MultipleArgs=false Keywords=Internet;WWW;Browser;Web;Explorer; Actions=new-window;new-private-window;profilemanager; X-AppImage-Version=157.0.1-1 [Desktop Action new-window] Name=Open a New Window Exec=librewolf %u [Desktop Action new-private-window] Name=Open a New Private Window Exec=librewolf --private-window %u [Desktop Action profilemanager] Name=Open the Profile Manager Exec=librewolf --ProfileManager %u -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
