            Bug ID: 527318
Summary: Drop-down menu generates identical duplicate entries,
                    apparently from symlinks?
    Classification: Applications
           Product: systemsettings
      Version First 6.6.6
       Reported In:
          Platform: TuxedoOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kcm_sddm
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected], [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

I first noticed this bug and figured out the hypothesis about symlinks being
the cause here:
https://forums.opensuse.org/t/kde-install-defaults-to-wayland-now-how-to-get-x11-instead-cuz-wayland-doesnt-work-with-the-rest-of-my-setup-yet/196627/14

Basically, I noticed that, under
"system settings" > "login screen (sddm)" > "behavior"
the drop-down menu had a few doubled/identical entries

I did:
ls -l /usr/share/xsessions/
and it showed what look like some symlinks,
so I guess the double-entries just came from that?

ie, the GUI presumably populates the drop-down list from something like that
ls,
and it has a minor bug where it fails to resolve "thing" and "symlink to thing"
as a single entry?

I personally found this after installing an opensuse tumbleweed vm,
which comes with "icewm" as a backup, which came with the symlink thing,
so I think it should be easy to reproduce?
