Mads Bondo Dydensborg <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REPORTED |CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #1 from Mads Bondo Dydensborg <[email protected]> --- I can reproduce this issue on Kubuntu 26.04 after upgrading from 24.04. I believe I found a working workaround: kwriteconfig6 --file kdeglobals \ --group "KFileDialog Settings" \ --key "Sort reversed" false With Sort by=Date already configured, this results in the desired behaviour: newest files first. I verified this using kdialog --getopenfilename "$HOME" and confirmed that the correct sorting persists across at least three consecutive openings of the dialog, as well as opening from Firefox, etc. I believe this persists, even when selecting other sorts, and closing/reopening, and then sorting by date, closing/reopening. Previously, with Sort reversed=true, the dialog consistently reopened with the oldest files first. This may suggests that the sort direction is interpreted incorrectly when restoring the saved configuration for the Date column.
