First of all, I would like to emphasize that I do not consider the current
behavior a bug. I understand that the playlist sidebar appearing when the mouse
reaches the right edge of the window is intentional.
I would simply appreciate having an additional option to configure this
behavior according to personal preference.
For my personal use case, I mainly use Haruna as a simple video player. For
example, I may have a folder containing two videos and simply want to watch one
of them. I do not normally use the playlist.
When I move the mouse towards the right edge of the Haruna window, the playlist
sidebar appears. This happens both in windowed mode and in fullscreen mode.
Since I do not use the playlist, I sometimes find this distracting, especially
when the mouse is moved towards the edge unintentionally.
Feature request
Would it be possible to add an option that allows users to keep the playlist
sidebar hidden?
For example, users could have a choice between:
the current auto-hide behavior
keeping the playlist hidden unless explicitly opened
The current behavior should of course remain available for users who prefer it.
I am only suggesting an additional configuration option, so that users can
choose whichever behavior suits their workflow best.
Use case
I personally would prefer the playlist to remain hidden during normal video
playback and only open it when I explicitly choose to do so.
I think having this as an optional setting would accommodate both use cases
without changing Haruna's current default behavior.
