At this point, it would be much easier to back up your documents, rename your current user, and then create a new user with your preferred login. You can then restore your documents and get going. Unfortunately, Plasma and KDE apps store many config files in different locations. It's nearly impossible to find out which settings are the problematic ones without diff'ing the files between your new test user and your regular user.
