Easiest thing to do would be to upgrade to kf5-5.15 https://www.kde.org/announcements/kde-frameworks-5.15.0.php or newer, and see if that helps. If your distro doesn't provide kf5-5.15 or newer, ask them to include the patch/fix referenced here in their kinit builds. (Sorry, I cannot give detailed instructions on how to do your own patched builds, that's more complicated and often specific to each distro).
