I have had this same problem [not being able to shutdown] on a Mageia5-KDE
system for sometime. This problem is marked as fixed but I cannot see exactly
what the fix is. If it is from the comment 3:

then how exactly do you apply it? If it is in one of the other 60 comments then
please explain clearly what you have to do. I also know someone who has this
problem on a Kubuntu system.
