I am attaching photos of what I get on my screen. However, if I click categories at the top I am able to add a new subcategory. But no from a list of categories. The image of my screen from when I click categories at the top is also attached and labeled Category top function key. When I try to split a transaction following your method, I am able to type in data. But when I click enter, it will take me back to the transaction page then KMyMoney shuts down. Then when I go back into KMyMoney the split transaction is not recorded. I hope I am explaining this in a way you understand. I searched the support community for an issue similiar to mine but couldn't find any topics on this. But this could be my limited knowledge of the community.
