SUMMARY
When running KDE Plasma in HDR mode, an exiting the session back to sddm, the
screen does not exit HDR mode.
launching another session, like sdr hyperland results in too much contrast and
poor image quality.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start plasma session from SDDM
2. Enable HDR through "display settings.", if HDR is not already enabled.
3. Logout to sddm
OBSERVED RESULT
- the image of the sddm screen is overly contrasty.
- in the menu of the physical display it says that the display is running hdr
content.
- launching another session, like sdr hyperland, results in too much contrast
and poor image quality.
- launching a standalone steam-gamescope session, results in a black screen,
and exits to sddm, still in hdr mode.
EXPECTED RESULT
as you logout of the desktop session, the screen turns black for a brief
moment, and the screen returns to sdr mode.
