the new pipeline which is in use, but I did not realise that is the exclusive
reason why EasyEffects has this superpower. 

When I looked at the graph, I found EE with nodes marked as
`media.class="Audio/Source/Virtual"` and `node.virtual`, and saw that line in
the plasma code which determined to only include non-virtual nodes, and
presumed that was it - but it appears that you are right, and KDE is only
looking for streams, so the fact they are marked as virtual would be redundant.

So, I guess this issue is truly resolved for EasyEffects, thanks to EE's new
design; and can be fixed for other apps by marking them as virtual? Anyway, now
that I realise who you are, I recognise that I probably don't have anything new
to add, so I'll leave you to it. Good luck!
