you could use the OpenFilePlugin. pseudo code:
p = new OpenFilePlugin(workbenchcontext, new File("path/to/file"));
p.execute();

I would like to customize Open JUMP, Let me start with EZ Buttons.,
Now I would like to add shape(.shp)file directly to work bench which
will open by default without go for any other option like
file->Open->OpenFile etc.,
Suggest me to how to edit Open JUMP using eclipse.
