as this goes to my svn folder I remove parts of the header. I am actually not sure if we should use the SVN list for exchanging emails? but that's a decision of you - the "active developers".

I once changed the whole GUI to famfamfam icons (took me 2 days) - but then discarded all my changes as some icons where not available (to GIS specific) and also the set had a different size & style. It's either all or nothing with respect to icons - from my point.
