I tried uninstalling JDK 1.7. That made no difference. I set the "JDK Compliance" to 1.6 and 1.5, but that didn't make a difference either. (Is that what you meant by "target version" of the compiler?)
I also removed all the plug-in dependencies. It didn't get past the configure method of the plug-ins Extension class. I'm going to try building the source in Netbeans. If that doesn't work, I'll try building on Linux.
