I can confirm you that in both applications (Kosmo Desktop and gvSIG)
the same driver (the ECW one) opens ecw and jpeg2000 files (and the dlls
are the same for both of them)

plugin. I believe that those dlls which are captured into ecw plugin 0.0.7 do
support both ECW and JPEG2000. GvSIG and Kosmo can both open .jp2 images but I
do not know if they do if through gdal or somehow more directly.
