It is strange, I just tested it on my machine (with NB from 03
september) and it works quite well.
Indeed, I found a small bug :
vmarg.1=-Dlog4j.configuration=file:\bin\log4j.xml
should be
vmarg.1=-Dlog4j.configuration=file:bin\log4j.xml
but it does not prevent OJ from starting
Can you check your openjump-core-1.4.2-SNAPSHOT.jar file is 5

The window also has buttons which cannot be traslated into
Finnish: Format and Compress. Format button has also a text

What do you think ? I spent much time for 1.4.1 release
trying to grab some information about licensing, but did not
find much.

For MrSid, I did not get any valuable information and did
not include it.
Any light on this subject is welcome, but I don't want to
get troubles with license problems. I think that keeping
OpenJUMP... open is more important than> including all GIS

I just think that if the Open file dialog is listing ecw
and MrSID file formats then it should be possible to open
them too. There should be no trouble in using those old ecw
dll files from the ER Mapper era. Apparently it would not be
as easy with new versions and at least you should download
the full ECW SDK from Erdas for getting the dlls. Better not
to play with the new ones. MrSID seems to be easier with the license.

Have they some other difference than the icon?
Yes, these buttons has been asked by co-workers to be able
to iterate through a feature list without changing the zoom
level. It makes things easier when you need a bit of context
to analyse each feature.
Ok, I can see the difference now. I will think about more
reasonable transtation for the hint text. By the way, the
zoom level changing option is probably doing the same than
the Zoom to selected tool and I would say that the margin
around selected feature is too wide when selected feature is
line or polygon. And if only one point is selected then OJ
usually zooms ridiculously close.
- The codepage selector for opening shapefiles is very good
to have but may be hard for a new user to know that such
selection exists because it must be activated first from the settings.
What do you suggest ? Asking the user each time he wants to
load a shapefile ? Putting this option dialog tab in another
option dialog accessible from the File menu ? Anyway, this
should be discussed with Matthias.
I am not sure. Asking every time might be a bit irritating
because usually that option is not needed. I do not know if
there is any good place for an extra button in Open shp/Save
shp dialogs. Ok button would Open/Save with defaults and not
asking anything more , Set codepage button or selection
would ask user input first. Matthias may deside. When one
knows where to switch the option it is not a problem but it
is hard to find for new users.
- I want the BeanTools back (with GetWMS_URL included).
Why back . Did it disappeared ?
After my translation yesterday it disappeared. I am on
another computer now and cannot repeat. I remember I had to
edit OpenJUMP.ini file yesterday from here bu uncommenting
and usind fi an FI. Perhaps it had some side effects. I must
to the same again next week.

I just added the GetWMS_URL in the SVN.
What do you think about removing newline charaters from
urls passed to the WMS plugin ? It should be easy. Could it
be harmful ?

I did not plan to include it before 1.4.2, but if anyone
else want to do, we can wait a bit before releasing.
- The extension manager is rather useless as it is now.
Seems that you agree with Ede on this point. I will just
deactivate the plugin until it is replaced by something more useful

less than 20 translations missing for cz, es, fi, hu, it
more than 50 translations missing for ml, pt, zh and ja
(note that for ml and zh, there are also some key missing,
I'll complete
them soon)
