Fellow programmers,

We will start work on the JTin library as part of our Google Summer of
Code project at OpenJUMP next week. This will be a low-level library
that will eventually be used to integrate TIN support into OpenJUMP.
We would like to invite Josef and his mentor Jan to collaborate with
us in the development with this library and the DEM code that Josef
will be producing for his student project for UDig.

If we get our two (2) students working together early on we can likely
accomplish more over the summer. I don't know if we can have a sinlge
library for both projects, but surely we can share some code.

You can read Chris DeMar's basic road map for the JTin library here:

http://openjump.org/wiki/show/Road+Map

We have set up a folder on the Jump Pilot Project SVN at SourceForge
for both our student projects.

Please let me know if you think cooperation on these two Summer of
Code projects is possible. I would be happy to work with Jan to divide
programming tasks among Josef and Chris according to their interests
and abilities.

The Sunburned Surveyor
