Are JCS and JTS part of this JUMP core? yes and no. . It is the hosting place for the current OpenJUMP development. . SkyJUMP and Kosmo have own source code repositories. The one from Skyjump is also on Sourceforge. . Only deeJUMP and PirolJUMP use OpenJUMP as base package. . JCS and JTS are not part of the JUMP core. JCS is hosted on jump-project.org. JTS is maintained and developed further by Martin Davis who is now working for Refractions (he also maintains the GEOS library)

Unfortunately there are not that much people using it (that is why we have now the forum). > > Although I am not a programmer, I'm going to give Eclipse a try, and > setup an OJ project accordingly, an in effort to get to the GUI > aspects of the program, and try to make some modifications/ > improvements, with menus, icons, and general layout. I prefer to comment out old code and if inserting new or make changes I usually add a comment nearby (with start, end, date, some message: just browse for instance OpenJUMPConfiguration.java). So one can afterwards easier use the compare function. aehhm yes.. to see how it works, how plugins are utilized/bound start with the OpenJUMPConfiguration.java and JUMPConfiguration.java > > I also want to create an xcode project for the installation and > execution portion of the application for OS X releases. Wish me luck(i'll need it!). mhm.. it is difficult to agree and not to aggree. As I pointed out earlier. We all have different backgrounds and mostly work in our free time on OJ, and such is of course limited. Only very few of us a educated programmers (which makes things more difficult). For instance if I could chose I would only develop "spatial algorithms" for map generalization or filtering or so... :) oh.. just a final note. I/most of us prefer short, "bulleted" emails .. this makes it easier for picking the right topics and browsing/reading. And I promise you will get answers faster (at least from me as I am saving most emails for the evenings). That is why I read/answered your email on the address things not yet. Ah yes.. finally I should also remark that if you don't get an answer after a few days, then usually nobody knows an answer (or your mail was too long ;). thanx for your interest!
