Hi Uwe, I added your wishes to the feature request, but I forgot to ask you if you tried Paolo's Plugin (from sourceforge site) which has more advanced features than the plugin included in the core ?
Also, I did not realize you are the one who wrote (or improved ?) PostGIS with SRID PlugIn V1.2.1 <https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=118054&package_id=179545&release_id=464883> , which manages SRID and can also write data in a postgis database.
