You don´t need to inform all parameters. Just what you want to use.
The others default values will be keeped.

In your case, you can use:

...
$('#gallery a').lightBox({
'imageBtnPrev' : 'images/image-prev.gif',
imageBtnNext' : 'images/image-next.gif'
});
...

Remember, the others default values will be keeped.

In this version, 0.3, you don´t need to alter anything in CSS file.
