I want to annotate changelog entries so that certain patterns (for example,
JENKINS-12345) are converted to hyperlinks. That will make it a little
easier to move between the changelog and the more detailed description and
history of various bug fixes.

I did that before with the HGCA plugin. It allowed me to specify a regular
expression pattern match and a replacement string. It worked very well.

I hadn't used that technique in a very long time. I just installed a new
Jenkins server, and the HGCA plugin seems to no longer be functional. The
install count for the plugin is still quite small, so I assume there are
other ways to solve the same problem.

How do others annotate their changelogs to convert text patterns into
hyperlinks which include the text from the changelog in the link?
