Gus Heck commented on SOLR-13350:
---------------------------------

Not exactly a dedicated test, but some exercise in
[https://github.com/apache/solr/pull/2595/files#diff-874aaa9daaf158f756a5bd6d61ec8ec5a6961063c5916e54641d2be7ad39a4b9]
Note especially that one needs to pay attention to how many segments are
generated in the test index if one wants to convince Lucene to make multiple
tasks.

> AFAICT, SolrIndexSearcher can be used only to search all the segments of an
> index in series. However, using CollectorManagers, segments can be searched
> concurrently and result in reduced latency. Opening this issue to explore the
> effectiveness of using CollectorManagers in SolrIndexSearcher from latency
> and throughput perspective.
