   Sounds like we don't yet have a consensus on what desired behavior should be 
when we are given a non-casted null as the argument (error or not, set srid or 
not).
   
   `SELECT ST_SRID(ST_SetSrid(NULL, 3857))` on traditional Sedona returns 
`NULL` (meaning SRID was not set). Though I'm not sure if that behavior was 
intentionally thought out. I really thought I remembered some engine setting it 
for SRID, but I guess not. Curious, did you expect the returned null to have a 
set SRID when you ran that query @paleolimbot?
