When updating packages and you see this one available, it is good to stop what you are doing, upgrade that single package first, then try to upgrade all other packages (which might be signed by keys in the new update). It will avoid trouble. Thanks @rmuir -- I'll do that next time. Quite happy to sidestep such trouble! Still digging ... I tried G1GC (vs current non-default throughput collector `ParallelGC`) and it didn't change anything. I'm now down to changes that caused a state change in the hardware/OS/BIOS itself ...
