Actually, many do. My mother has worked for H&R Block for 10 or so years doing taxes, and she used to come home every night and laugh about some of the strange ways people claimed to make money. Sure, some of them were probably telling the truth, but she realized that many of them actually got their money by illegal means. The IRS doesn't care how you make the money, but they will hunt you down if you don't pay taxes on it.
