At my University they planned a Linux installation thing for women about
two years ago. I don't know how successful it was, the organizing was a
bit...uhmm...unorganized (actually I'm pretty embarrassed myself since I
was the one really backing out...), but it might be repeated this year
if we/someone manage to gather som people to do it. The plan last time
was simply to borrow a couple of PCs from dept. of computer science and
spend the day installing Redhat on one and demonstrating Linux on the
other, plus handing out/selling RH copies to anyone interested.
(It was actually the student priest assistant who organized it (i.e. got
the idea and promoted it in pamphlets etc), she is a real geek girl
herself (with a Playstation in her bed))
By the way, I plan to make a LinuxChix chapter in Trondheim, Norway.
Anyone from around here close to me? :)
Magni :)
