I sympathize with the rant, because I am a super geek, married to a geek,
fortunately most of the time, those who do know us know that I am the super
geek <VBG>

At the same time, I've been put down more times than can be counted as an
amateur radio operator, since I seem to be one of the very few women who
were attracted to ham radio by herself -- my father was a ham, and I use
his call sign now, but he got his license due to my interest.
