[~stakiar] thank you for your patch, I've just applied it locally.

After your updates, there are still 34 failed tests in the last run above. May 
I ask you to take a quick look at why they failed? (I mean those tests that 
don't expect the "exhausted memory" outcome)

In the mean time, I'll see how to make these tests behave the same with the new 
memory handler.
