Hi, there is already a JIRA for this: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-40336 with PR #28929 As Martijn said, this solution would introduce a breaking change in the state. I don't know what promises Flink makes when it comes to SQL state compatibility between minor versions, but taking into account how other operators were updated in the past for similar reasons, compatibility can be easily maintained with older snapshots. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
