Mihai Budiu commented on CALCITE-6932:
--------------------------------------

This is how semantic versioning works for open-source: any change in semantics
requires a change to the major version: https://semver.org/

Calcite supports many other dialects besides these, so I think they are still
in a minority.

It's not pushback, I am looking for a solution that does not break
compatibility.

> I'm writing unparse of an Array for Snowflake and I need to access the
> nullability of SqlDataTypeSpec
> [https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/data-types-structured#specifying-a-structured-array-type]
> I was using org.apache.calcite.sql.type.SqlTypeUtil.convertTypeToSpec and
> noticed it's not using type.isNullable()
