Well, the shame is more on our side as we did not revert this breakage
when it was discovered (and it was before 5.3.8 was released). And we
have hard discussions to even get an agreement about such changes
being a BC break. I'm not willing to blame anyone but we are
responsible here, 200%.

We do tests using apps in our labs and we report any breakage or bugs.
We did it for this one as well. But the more we have the better :)
