They have very informed positions about why PHP is a lousy hammer.

It is.

By design.

Intentionally.

Many projects might require a screwdriver, or a spanner/wrench, some
duct tape, maybe some glue, some wood putty, a glue gun, a cutting
torch, etc. That is the heart of PHP.

Put another way, Java was designed by engineers, who know how to make
a damn solid building.

PHP was put together by people who know how to make a building
actually function... regardless of the original design presented.
