So you are saying that the current namespace is not a control structure?
Simple fact is that is is not. It doesn't even exist at runtime, so it hardly can control execution.
And you are also saying that we are python where whitespace has a semantical and syntactical meaning? I am sorry but I have written hundreds of thousands of lines of C++ code and read even more and hardly anyone uses indentation, simply because it has no additional meaning.
As I said, PHP is not exactly C++, so while I respect your perspective as C++ programmer, I think it is important to understand that most PHP users didn't actually write thousands of lines of C++ code and thus would have different perspective, for them it isn't "the more like C++, the better".
