In the past two weeks a great deal of effort was put by a number of developers towards stabilization of the 5.1 branch with over 20 bug fixes made during this period alone. Based on our own tests (those wacky phpt files) and those made by QA team and related projects, 5.1 is ready for production. Pending discovery of any critical issues such as crashes, security faults and regressions I intend to release 5.1 final no later then November 10th. Since we are at the final stages of release process I'd like to ask all developers to confirm all their patches to 5.1 tree with me prior to applying them. Any non-critical patches should be reserved for subsequent releases (5.1.1, etc...). I'd also like to ask everyone to once again to test their code against 5.1, we want this release to be as stable as possible and we need your help to locate any non-yet discovered defects.
